As a Procurement Officer, you will play a crucial role in achieving excellent procurement outcomes. Your responsibilities will include providing expert advice, coordinating tender evaluations, overseeing contract maintenance, developing procurement strategies, and facilitating negotiations. Your work will directly influence the department's ability to deliver quality services. You will also ensure that all procurement activities comply with relevant regulations and policies.

Your responsibilities will include providing expert advice, coordinating tender evaluations, overseeing contract maintenance, developing procurement strategies, and facilitating negotiations.

• Provide expert advice, analysis and support across the department to ensure timely and compliant acquisition of goods and services.
• Coordinate the delivery of cost-effective tender evaluation and renewal processes.
• Oversee the maintenance and regular auditing of all contracts.
• Contribute to the development, implementation and review of contract and procurement strategies.
• Coordinate negotiations with service providers and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with Treasurer’s Instructions, Department for Education’s Procurement Framework, Procurement Governance Committee, Office for Industry Advocate and Departmental policy.

What you bring:
As a Procurement Officer, you bring proven experience in managing multiple procurement projects. You have the ability to work independently, make informed decisions, and resolve issues effectively. Your expertise lies in advising on value-for-money procurement practices that achieve desired outcomes. You have a deep understanding of Government systems and the processes involved in establishing procurement contracts. Your ability to develop effective networks will be key in this role. Above all, you are committed to promoting a safe and inclusive work environment.

• Proven ability to schedule and coordinate multiple procurement projects.
• Ability to work under limited direction and exercise responsibility for decision-making.
• Experience in advising on value for money and compliant procurement practices.
• Knowledge of Treasurer’s Instruction 18 and processes for establishing procurement contracts.
• Experience in developing effective networks and operational relationships.
• Commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive work environment.
