An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Officer to join a dynamic team in Regional Queensland. This role offers an salary range of $90k to $140k and provides the chance to work within a supportive and inclusive environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end procurement, contract and contract management activities across various goods and services categories. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to utilise their skills in a role that offers both challenge and reward.

What you'll do:

As a Commercial Officer, your primary role will be to provide end-to-end procurement, contract and contract management activities across various goods and services categories. You will be instrumental in establishing, executing, and maintaining annual sourcing plans for goods and service contracts. Your strong negotiation skills will be utilised when dealing with contract terms & conditions within legal governance frameworks. You will also have the opportunity to develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, service providers and internal stakeholders.

  • Take accountability for health, safety, and environmental outcomes.
  • Operate in accordance with company policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Provide input to the development and execution of the commercial business plan.
  • Establish, execute, and maintain annual sourcing plan for goods and service contracts.
  • Lead the analysis and evaluation of tenders and quotations in alignment with internal stakeholders.
  • Negotiate contract terms & conditions within legal governance frameworks and prepare supply contract recommendations.
  • Administer contracts, monitor suppliers performance and formalise performance outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, service providers and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify value-adding opportunities that contribute to continuous improvement business outcomes.


What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Commercial Officer position will bring a wealth of experience in procurement / contract / contract management from a similar work environment. A degree in business / supply chain management / procurement or similar would be desirable but not essential. You will have knowledge of relevant legislation including workplace health and safety, chain of responsibility & modern slavery etc. Proficiency in the use of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, particularly Oracle JDE is a must. Your advanced skills in MS Office suite will be utilised daily and your strong written skills will enable you to write comprehensive documentation.

  • Degree in business / supply chain management / procurement or similar (Desirable)
  • Minimum of 5 years procurement / contract / contract management experience in a similar work environment
  • Knowledge of legislation including workplace health and safety, chain of responsibility & modern slavery etc
  • Proficient in the use of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, particularly Oracle JDE.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office suite
  • Strong written skills, with the ability to write comprehensive documentation
  • High level stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and strong time management skills.
