Perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys problem-solving, and is passionate about making shipping simpler, faster, and more dependable.
What you'll do:
You will play a pivotal role in optimising shipping services for an established e-commerce platform. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close collaboration with both domestic and international carriers as well as internal teams.
- Monitor carrier service levels and delivery performance on a daily basis, investigating any issues that arise and driving corrective actions to ensure consistent quality.
- Utilise data analysis techniques to identify trends, uncover root causes of operational challenges, and prioritise solutions that remove friction for users across the platform.
- Coordinate day-to-day operations with both carriers and internal teams, ensuring clear communication through incident management and escalation playbooks.
- Standardise and improve key processes such as tracking events, label workflows, returns procedures, and hand-offs to prevent repeat defects and enhance overall efficiency.
- Support onboarding activities or changes with carriers by validating readiness and facilitating smooth rollouts that minimise disruption for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to share insights from operational data, contributing to strategic decision-making that benefits both customers and sellers.
What you bring:
To excel as a Shipping and Logistics Operations Specialist in this Sydney-based hybrid role, you will bring substantial hands-on experience from the ecommerce logistics sector along with proven success managing complex operational projects. Your background should include direct engagement with carrier partners where you have demonstrated an ability to navigate their systems effectively while maintaining high standards of service delivery.
- Proven experience working directly with domestic or international carriers; comfortable navigating their processes while upholding service commitments.
- A data-driven mindset supported by proficiency in dashboards and basic analytical tools used to inform operational decisions effectively.
- Familiarity with API-based or system-integrated shipping workflows; technical understanding without the need for coding expertise.
- Clear communication skills combined with stakeholder management capabilities that facilitate productive collaboration between carriers and internal teams.
- University or graduate degree preferably in business-related disciplines providing foundational knowledge relevant to logistics operations.
