Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Procurement Professional to join their dynanmic team. The Procurement Manager is pivotal to the success of the procurement function and ongoing delivery of Modern Slavery and ESG strategies. The successful candidate will have experience managing indirect categories, and collaborate with various business units to deliver effective and efficient procurement outcomes across the group. This role offers an exciting chance to influence external partners and support the overall Procurement, Modern Slavery and ESG agenda.


What you'll do:

As a Procurement Manager, you will be entrusted with leading complex sourcing initiatives while managing ongoing indirect category management. You will perform detailed analysis, formulating negotiation strategies based on your understanding of indirect categories. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, you will develop technical and commercial requirements for tenders and contracts. Your role will also involve assisting with reporting requirements, tracking procurement benefits, as well as Modern Slavery and ESG outcomes. Ensuring compliance with policies and procedures for procurement and contracts across different business units will be a key part of your responsibilities.

  • Manage multiple complex initiatives across a variety of indirect categories
  • Lead end-to-end complex sourcing initiatives and manage ongoing category management
  • Perform detailed analysis to obtain an understanding of the category with the ability to formulate negotiation strategies
  • Work closely with stakeholders to formulate technical and commercial requirements for tender and contract development
  • Assist with reporting requirements and tracking of procurement benefits, Modern Slavery and ESG outcomes
  • Maintain and monitor compliance with policies and procedures for procurement and contracts across the business units


What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Procurement Manager position brings along at least three years of experience in Procurement Project Management, particularly focusing on Change Management, ESG or Modern Slavery. You will possess advanced data analysis skills, coupled with proficiency in reporting tools. A strong understanding of end-to-end procurement processes is essential, along with a keen commercial acumen to review, analyse and recommend commercial outcomes. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are crucial for managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Experience in a retail or FMCG environment would be an added advantage.

  • At least 3 years experience in Procurement Project Management, focused on Change Management / ESG or Modern Slavery
  • Experience managing a range of indirect categories
  • Advanced data analysis and reporting skills with proficiency in tools
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end procurement processes
  • Strong commercial acumen with ability to review, analyse and recommend commercial outcomes
  • Excellent communicator (written and verbal) with high level interpersonal skills
  • Experience in a retail environment is desirable but not essential
