Principal Procurement Specialist

Our client is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join their team. This role will be responsible for implementing best practice procurement across a range of specialisations, including Sourcing, Category Management, Contract Management and Supplier Relationship Management.

  • Based Northside of Brisbane
  • 3-6 month contract
  • WFH flexibility
  • Onsite parking and close to public transport

What you'll do:

  • Lead the development and implementation of category strategies and plans
  • Develop and execute quality sourcing and contract management plans
  • Lead strategic negotiations with internal and external stakeholders
  • Undertake value chain analysis, design, and implementation to deliver improved outcomes
  • Act as a point of escalation for procurement matters requiring strategic specialist advice
  • Build and maintain high level relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

What you'll bring:

  • Extensive procurement experience across a range of specialisations including sourcing, contract management, category management
  • Extensive knowledge and experience providing specialist advice for procurement matters of strategic importance
  • Detailed knowledge of the relevant legislative and contractual requirements for the provision of a high-quality contract management service
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement analytics, value creation and opportunity analysis
  • Well-developed negotiation skills with an ability to balance price / quality / relationship trade-offs with suppliers
  • Extensive stakeholder management skills with ability to negotiate best value outcomes with internal/external stakeholders
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience across construction highly regarded
