An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced procurement professional to join a high-performing team on a 9-month project for a Tier 1 Mining Company based in Perth CBD. With a generous hourly rate of $120-$150, this is an excellent opportunity for those looking to make a significant impact in a key business initiative.

What you'll do:

  • Build and manage strategic supplier relationships that target realisation of value over and above contract value through innovation, risk sharing, R&D and active commercial partnerships.
  • Lead complex global negotiations to achieve win-win outcomes.
  • Develop value chain strategies and identify, structure and prioritise opportunities.
  • Frame, evaluate and communicate the risk-reward proposition of strategies, plans and decisions.
  • Mitigate people, community, human rights and modern slavery, environmental and climate risks across the value chain.
  • Gain support for and negotiate outcomes that achieve mutually beneficial goals.
  • Monitor application of Procurement category management processes within the team to support compliance and other requirements.
  • Engage the capabilities of the entire organisation.


What you bring:

  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in developing and implementing complex regional and global categories strategies.
  • Experience dealing with global OEMs.
  • Demonstrated experience in global complex negotiations and contract management.
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects with cross-functional global stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage and influence stakeholders across multiple geographical regions.
  • Proficiency in identifying risks and appropriate commercial control options.
  • Sound judgement, critical thinking skills, ability to validate assumptions and understand stakeholder requirements.
  • Strategic mindset with ability to identify new opportunities and drive them to implementation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite of products, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
