About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support a large Australian bank within its customer care and remediation function.

This role sits at the heart of risk reduction, business rectification and process uplift initiatives, playing a critical part in strengthening the control environment and enabling evidence-based decision making. You will lead high-quality business analysis across event investigations, remediation programs and pathway-to-green roadmap commitments.

As a trusted advisor across business, risk and operational teams, you will bring structure and clarity to complex issues — translating insights into clear recommendations that improve customer outcomes, reduce risk exposure and drive sustainable uplift. This role suits a commercially astute, detail-oriented analyst who thrives in regulated environments and can confidently influence senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a primary liaison between business, risk, compliance and operational stakeholders

  • Lead event, incident and issue investigations to determine customer impact, root causes and control gaps

  • Conduct structured analysis to break down complex business problems and develop evidence-based recommendations

  • Elicit, analyse and document business requirements supporting rectification, remediation and control uplift

  • Develop high-quality artefacts including process maps, business rules, control definitions, risk assessments and remediation options

  • Translate analysis into clear problem statements, acceptance criteria and delivery-ready documentation

  • Ensure all activities are traceable to customer outcomes, risk reduction objectives and roadmap commitments

  • Support prioritisation and sequencing of initiatives based on impact, risk and value

  • Partner with operations and enablement teams through implementation and outcome validation

  • Contribute to governance packs, assurance documentation and executive reporting

  • Support testing, validation and confirmation that uplift outcomes have been successfully achieved

  • Provide data-driven insights to support leadership decision making

  • Plan and manage analysis activities to meet regulatory and risk-driven deadlines

About You

  • 5+ years’ experience in business analysis across multiple stages of the delivery lifecycle

  • Proven experience analysing complex business problems within large or regulated environments

  • Strong background in process uplift, optimisation, and event/incident investigation

  • Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise-wide remediation or operational change initiatives

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking capability with a structured, data-driven approach

  • Experience working within risk, compliance or control frameworks (highly regarded)

  • Comfortable facilitating workshops and leading discussions with senior stakeholders

  • Strong documentation skills with the ability to produce clear, concise and decision-ready artefacts

  • Ability to balance customer, business and risk perspectives when developing recommendations
