What you'll do:
As a Product Manager – Payment Terminal Solutions based in Melbourne, you will play a central role in shaping the next generation of payment infrastructure. Your day-to-day activities will involve leading the discovery phase for alternative hardware providers by conducting rigorous market research and technical evaluations. You will synthesise complex data into actionable insights that guide executive decisions on viable terminal options. By partnering closely with internal teams across engineering, security, architecture, operations, procurement, and payments products—as well as engaging externally with acquirers and certification bodies will ensure all business requirements are captured.

Role Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough market scans to identify suitable payment terminal providers beyond current vendors, mapping out capabilities, certifications, support models, and global versus regional presence.
- Develop detailed comparison matrices from vendor RFP/RFI responses to facilitate informed decision-making across device portfolios and operating systems.
- Perform technical feasibility assessments for each provider, evaluating their ability to support custom payment applications through SDKs, APIs, device OS compatibility, remote management tools, and development environments.
- Analyse integration requirements with existing payment processors, acquirers, and POS systems to ensure seamless deployment of new hardware solutions.
- Document terminal management needs including TMS (Terminal Management Systems), RKI (Remote Key Injection), HSM (Hardware Security Module) usage, and remote update processes.

- Comprehensive knowledge of PCI standards encompassing encryption protocols, key management practices, device security measures, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with acquirer integration's including EFTPOS processing workflows and card scheme mandates relevant to the Australian payments landscape.
- Exceptional analytical skills enabling you to conduct cost–benefit modelling across hardware acquisition costs, licensing structures, development efforts, certification processes, operational risk factors, and total cost of ownership calculations.
