AI & SAP Business Analyst

A fantastic opportunity is available for a Principal Business Analyst to join a major public sector transformation program in Brisbane’s CBD. In this senior role, you’ll lead the development of enterprise data governance frameworks, guide the implementation of S/4 HANA archiving solutions, and shape the organisation’s 12‑month Artificial Intelligence roadmap. You’ll work closely with technical teams, business leaders, and project stakeholders to improve data quality, streamline processes, and align information management practices with strategic objectives. This position also offers the chance to mentor teams, facilitate workshops, and influence high‑level decision‑making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver comprehensive data governance frameworks that support consistency, compliance, and high-quality information management.
• Lead the deployment of S/4 HANA archiving solutions (C61 and C62) and establish strong master data management processes.
• Develop a detailed AI roadmap that prioritises use cases and supports the organisation’s innovation agenda.
• Collaborate on major initiatives such as Payroll Optimisation and Plan to Report, identifying opportunities to improve processes and data management.
• Run workshops, provide training, and build capability across teams.
• Mentor direct reports and guide project teams in applying best‑practice methodologies.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Monitor progress against key performance indicators related to cost optimisation, efficiency, and improved decision‑making.
• Promote continuous improvement and recommend forward‑thinking data solutions.

What You Bring

• Deep expertise in S/4 HANA architecture, including hands‑on experience with archiving solutions.
• Proven ability to design and implement data governance frameworks across large organisations.
• Experience developing master data management processes and deploying business rules.
• Strong analytical capability and ideally experience creating practical, strategically aligned AI roadmaps.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to translate complex information into accessible insights.
• Demonstrated leadership through workshops, training, coaching, and team development.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT, Data Science, Business Analytics or similar; SAP or DAMA certifications are advantageous.
• Adaptability, resilience, and a commitment to quality in fast‑paced, evolving environments.
