Finance & Payroll Change Lead

Save job

We are looking for a senior change and communication leader to drive the adoption and integration of a Finance and Payroll system change as part of a wider large-scale digital transformation program. This role sits within a dedicated Digital Change and Transformation function and is a full-time position for an 18 month fixed term contract.

Our client is a major education-sector organisation undergoing significant digital uplift through a multi-year transformation program focused on modernising enterprise systems, improving operating models and enhancing user experience. This position plays a critical role within the Finance and Payroll capability, ensuring that staff are supported, engaged and ready for the upcoming changes.

You will be responsible for executing the overarching Change and Communication Strategy for the Finance and Payroll stream, working closely with the Program Change and Communication Lead to ensure alignment with broader program objectives. This role is strategic and includes overseeing all change and communication deliverables, conducting impact assessments and readiness activities, identifying dependencies, and leading a small specialist team to plan and execute high-quality change and communication initiatives. Collaboration with other capability teams will be essential to ensure consistent messaging and alignment across the transformation.

Reporting into the Program Change and Communication Lead, you will work directly with business and technical leaders and engage closely with Finance and Payroll user groups. You will guide stakeholders through change impacts, manage communications during complex or unexpected situations, track progress, and provide regular updates to leadership. You will identify potential resistance, develop mitigation strategies, manage risks, escalate key decisions to governance forums, and support the design and delivery of training programs to ensure end-users are confident with new systems and processes.

You will have extensive experience delivering change across large IT and business transformation programs, with deep expertise in enterprise applications and ERPs. Experience in finance and payroll transformation programs is essential. You must be comfortable navigating complex environments, balancing competing priorities, analysing risks and influencing senior stakeholders. If you are interested, please make sure to apply through the portal to register your interest.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are encouraged to apply.
