Program Manager - Financial Crime

Save job

This role is at the heart of a major uplift initiative, consolidating and delivering all activities related to financial crime risk, including anti-money laundering, counter-terrorism financing, sanctions, fraud, scams, and anti-bribery and corruption. You will be empowered to drive meaningful change across multiple business units, working closely with senior leaders and diverse teams to ensure the organisation’s compliance and operational resilience.

The position offers the chance to make a significant impact on the bank’s future by shaping its approach to financial crime risk management, while enjoying a collaborative culture that values continuous improvement, learning, and shared success.

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of a comprehensive Financial Crime Transformation Programme impacting all facets of the organisation, from risk management to customer-facing businesses.
  • Collaborate with executive stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with strategic objectives, regulatory requirements, and sustainable business outcomes.
  • Enjoy a supportive environment that champions continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and flexible working arrangements while you help shape the future of financial crime risk management.

What you'll do:

As Program Manager – Financial Crime Transformation you will play a crucial role in orchestrating one of the most significant change programmes within the organisation. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve designing an overarching strategy that brings together all ongoing and emerging financial crime risk initiatives under one cohesive framework. You will work collaboratively with key stakeholders across departments - ranging from compliance specialists to technology experts - to ensure every project aligns with broader organisational goals.

  • Lead and deliver an integrated Financial Crime Transformation programme, aligning initiatives with strategic objectives.

  • Oversee multiple projects across AML, CTF, sanctions, fraud, scams, and anti-bribery, coordinating across business units.

  • Develop programme roadmaps, manage dependencies, mitigate risks, and report progress to senior stakeholders.

  • Manage budgets, resources, and governance frameworks to ensure efficient delivery and robust controls.

  • Drive change adoption, guide teams through transitions, and embed compliance and sustainable outcomes.

What you bring:

To excel as Program Manager – Financial Crime Transformation you will bring extensive experience leading sophisticated programmes within large-scale banking or financial services settings. Your background should include hands-on involvement with regulatory compliance - particularly AUSTRAC requirements - and deep familiarity with anti-money laundering frameworks. You will have demonstrated your capacity for connecting individual project outcomes with broader organisational strategies while maintaining rigorous oversight over budgets, timelines, risks, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Experienced in managing large-scale financial crime or regulatory transformation programmes in complex financial institutions.

  • Strong knowledge of AUSTRAC regulations and practical AML/CTF compliance.

  • Skilled in risk identification, control design, and aligning projects to strategic goals.

  • Exceptional at translating technical details for diverse audiences and influencing stakeholders at all levels.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage resources, budgets, and multiple projects simultaneously.
