The Opportunity
Located in Richmond and reporting to the Commercial Director, you will assist in the management of day-to-day sales and customer activities in line with GSM’s strategic vision. Working alongside the Commercial Director and Account Manager to develop and foster meaningful customer relationships to drive and increase business. This is an opportunity to further develop and grow your career with a clear progression path and increased ownership over time.

What you will do

• Develop and foster customer relationships
• Work with the FP&A Manager to ensure detailed analysis of key commercial metrics and establish short and long-term strategies to drive success to goals/targets
• Manage customer sell-through activity to ensure management of customer expectations, performance, and effective/efficient activity
• Secure and develop existing business, ensuring key commercial metrics are in line with customer expectations and targets
• Support in driving new opportunities in line with the business’ New Business Strategy
• Gain exposure in global sourcing of new and existing products using the appropriate internal channels
• Provide recommendations of marketing or promotional activity and opportunities to support customer sales activity and product promotion in line with the business’ strategy.

What you will bring

• Proven experience in an Account Manager or a supporting client facing role
• Sound understanding of the Australian retail industry, specifically electrical retailers preferred
• Understanding of supply chain dynamics
• Strong interpersonal skills, with a balance of valuing human interaction and business profitability
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate and sustain networking relationships
• Proven entrepreneurial capacity
