Business Development Manager

The Company: My client is a global digital marketplace and live commerce platform, connecting millions of buyers and sellers through real-time, interactive shopping experiences. Their live commerce offering enables brands and retailers to showcase products via livestream events, with a strong focus on premium pre-loved luxury fashion, jewellery and handbags, creating an engaging and trusted environment for high-value transactions. The Role: They're seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to grow a live commerce marketplace, specialising in pre-loved luxury fashion, jewellery and handbags. You’ll acquire premium sellers, optimise performance and deliver seamless onboarding from sign-up to launch. Please note you must have the Right to Work in Australia as my client is unable to sponsor for contract positions.

Key Responsibilities:

Seller Acquisition & Pipeline Management

  • Identify, prospect and onboard high-value sellers within pre-loved luxury categories.

  • Build and manage a strong outbound pipeline via calls, social platforms and industry events.

  • Maintain accurate CRM records and manage prospects through the full sales cycle.

  • Develop compelling commercial propositions to attract premium retail partners.

  • Consistently deliver against acquisition targets and pipeline KPIs.

Seller Growth & Optimisation

  • Cross-sell platform solutions to accelerate seller performance from launch.

  • Provide consultative guidance on store setup, listings and trading best practice.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve policy, authenticity and operational challenges.

  • Build trusted relationships with sellers to drive long-term commercial growth.

  • Monitor seller performance and identify opportunities to increase sales velocity.

Onboarding & Technical Integration

  • Manage end-to-end onboarding, acting as primary contact through go-live.

  • Advise sellers on integration approaches based on their existing technology stack.

  • Support large catalogue uploads, data quality standards and product optimisation.

  • Troubleshoot listing and inventory issues impacting trading capability.

  • Deliver seller training on platform tools, order management and customer experience.

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience in business development, B2B sales or account management.

  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills with commercial stakeholders.

  • Experience managing sales pipelines, KPIs and CRM systems.

  • Technically confident with e-commerce platforms and marketplace integrations.

  • Highly organised self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, target-driven environments.

Desirable:

  • Experience within e-commerce, luxury resale or marketplace environments.

  • Knowledge of inventory management or listing tools.

  • Understanding of pre-loved luxury fashion, jewellery or handbag markets.

  • Experience supporting technical integrations or catalogue migration.

  • Familiarity with live commerce or digital retail innovation.
