SAP S/4HANA OPIM Functional Consultant, Till March 2027 An exciting opportunity for a highly knowledgeable SAP S/4HANA Operational Procurement and Inventory Management (OPIM) Functional Consultant to join a major transformation project within the healthcare sector in Australia.
What you'll do:
- Assess current SAP S/4HANA environments within the department to identify areas for improvement and propose pragmatic, fit-for-purpose solutions that align with defined business requirements.
- Design bespoke operational procurement and inventory management processes on the S/4HANA platform, focusing on inventory replenishment, control, and reverse logistics.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather detailed business requirements, ensuring all proposed solutions are tailored to the specific needs of the Future State Project.
- Prepare comprehensive business blueprints and detailed design documentation that clearly articulate solution architecture and process flows.
- Configure SAP S/4HANA OPIM modules according to agreed specifications, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project objectives.
- Lead unit testing activities, provide integration testing support, and facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure robust solution delivery.
- Support cutover planning activities by developing strategies for smooth transition from legacy systems to new processes within the S/4HANA environment.
- Deliver post Go-Live hypercare support, addressing any issues promptly and ensuring ongoing system stability and user satisfaction.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary project team, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Maintain clear communication with both technical teams and business users to ensure understanding of requirements, progress updates, and successful adoption of new processes.
What you bring:
- A minimum of five years’ experience implementing original SAP S/4HANA Operational Procurement and Inventory Management module designs or requirements in either greenfield implementations or live production environments is essential for this role.
- Demonstrated ability to create bespoke designs rather than relying solely on predefined templates or rollout configurations is required.
- Proven track record managing full lifecycle project activities including gathering business requirements, preparing business blueprints, detailed design documentation, configuration, unit testing, integration testing support, UAT support, cutover planning and post Go-Live hypercare is necessary.
- Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholder groups across technical and non-technical backgrounds are vital.
- Excellent written communication skills for producing clear documentation such as blueprints, process flows, test scripts and user guides are important.
- Experience working within large-scale transformation projects in complex organisational environments is highly desirable.
- A deep understanding of inventory replenishment processes, inventory control methodologies and reverse logistics within an SAP context is advantageous.
- Familiarity with healthcare industry standards or previous experience supporting public sector clients would be beneficial but not mandatory.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining focus on quality outcomes is appreciated by the team.
