What you'll do:

As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will be entrusted with overseeing the organisation’s information security systems by taking a hands-on approach to monitoring digital environments for potential threats. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve designing robust cyber security controls tailored to protect critical infrastructure while managing an array of advanced tools such as SIEMs, DLPs, WAFs, CASBs, XDRs, and more. You will conduct thorough risk assessments and vulnerability analyses across all platforms to ensure that every aspect of the organisation’s IT ecosystem remains resilient against cyberattacks. By collaborating with external SOC teams and leveraging up-to-date threat intelligence, you will play an integral role in incident investigation processes as well as routine operations. Your ability to maintain meticulous documentation ensures that all procedures are aligned with industry standards while supporting ongoing compliance efforts. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys staying ahead of cybersecurity trends and is passionate about implementing proactive measures that keep digital assets safe.

  • Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive cyber security controls that protect all systems and services used across the organisation’s digital landscape.
  • Manage a suite of advanced technologies and tools including network and web application firewalls, proxies, data loss prevention solutions, identity and access management platforms, endpoint protection software, and security event monitoring systems (SIEM).
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, and threat modelling exercises to identify potential weaknesses and ensure proactive mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Identify, prioritise, and manage security risks by developing effective mitigation plans that align with organisational objectives and industry best practices.
  • Monitor for security incidents such as attacks, breaches, or vulnerabilities using sophisticated detection methods, and remediate any identified gaps according to established procedures.
  • Plan and implement vulnerability management products to scan ICT infrastructure regularly, ensuring timely identification and resolution of potential threats.
  • Collaborate closely with managed Security Operations Centres (SOC) through SIEM correlation searches to analyse threat intelligence and support both incident investigations and business-as-usual activities.
  • Analyse evolving threat landscapes and trends to proactively introduce measures that defend against emerging cyber attacks.
  • Continuously monitor and enhance DevSecOps technologies to minimise exposure within the threat landscape while supporting secure development practices.
  • Maintain detailed cybersecurity documentation including procedures, playbooks, incident response plans, and system configurations to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

What you bring:

To excel as a Cyber Security Analyst in this environment you will bring proven experience working within complex IT ecosystems where you have been responsible for implementing robust cyber defences. Your technical proficiency spans across multiple domains including network protection tools like firewalls or proxies; endpoint solutions; identity management; data loss prevention; SIEM platforms; CASB; XDR; IPS/IDS; patching; vulnerability management; Purview; Defender; among others. You possess strong analytical skills which enable you to assess risks accurately while developing practical mitigation strategies tailored for each scenario. Your collaborative nature allows you to work seamlessly with internal stakeholders as well as external partners such as managed SOC providers. A keen eye for detail ensures your documentation is always precise—supporting both operational excellence and regulatory compliance. Above all else your passion for continuous learning keeps you informed about new developments within the cybersecurity sector so you can proactively adapt defences accordingly.

  • Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining cyber security controls within complex IT environments.
  • Proven ability to manage technologies such as network firewalls, web application firewalls (WAF), proxies, data loss prevention (DLP), identity and access management (IAM), endpoint protection solutions, SIEM platforms (such as Splunk or Sentinel), CASB tools, XDR suites, IPS/IDS systems.
  • Strong background in conducting risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, threat modelling exercises across diverse technology landscapes.
  • Experience planning and deploying vulnerability management products for comprehensive scanning of ICT infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with collaborating alongside managed SOC teams through SIEM correlation searches for effective incident investigation support.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current threat landscapes including malware trends, attack vectors, emerging vulnerabilities, and best practice defence mechanisms.
  • Ability to maintain accurate cybersecurity documentation including policies, playbooks, incident response plans, system configurations in line with compliance requirements.
  • Previous hands-on experience installing, maintaining or troubleshooting information security systems such as SIEMs (Security Information Event Management), Purview or Defender suites would be highly regarded.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration within cross-functional teams focused on shared goals around information security.
