Technical Business Analyst

The Senior Business Analyst supports the Group Reporting and Analytics Manager in delivering robust, insightful, and actionable analytics across the organisation. This role is responsible for developing and enhancing financial and non-financial models, dashboards, and reports to guide strategic and operational decision-making.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Data Analysis and Insights
• Analyse large and complex datasets to generate insights that support strategic and operational objectives.
• Prepare accurate and timely variance analysis, business performance commentary, and ad hoc analytical reports.
• Translate complex data findings into clear, concise recommendations for business stakeholders.
2. Data Management & Governance
• Design and implement data collection and storage processes to support business objectives.
• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of all data sources and outputs.
• Implement and uphold strong data governance practices to maintain high data quality standards across reporting and analytics activities.
3. Reporting and Dashboard Development
• Design, build, and maintain dynamic dashboards and automated reports (e.g., in Jedox, Ms Business Central, Power BI or Tableau).
• Support the preparation of monthly Board and management reports, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
• Develop standardised reporting templates and ensure consistent use across the organisation.
4. Budgeting, Forecasting, and Financial Modelling
• Support the budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, including data gathering, validation, and scenario modelling.
• Develop and maintain financial models that provide insights into business performance and support long-term planning.

5. Systems and Data Integration
• Collaborate with IT and business teams to integrate data from various systems, ensuring reliable and comprehensive reporting.
• Assist in defining requirements for new business systems or enhancements to existing systems to improve data and reporting capabilities.
6. Process Improvement and Automation
• Identify opportunities to streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.
• Lead automation initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of data governance and quality frameworks.
7. Stakeholder Engagement
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into analytics solutions.
• Provide training and support to business users on data tools, reports, and dashboards.
• Act as a key point of contact for data-related queries and initiatives.

8. Support and Mentorship
• Mentor junior analysts and support their development in data analysis, visualisation, and business understanding.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the finance team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in business analysis, financial analysis, data analytics, stakeholder engagement.
• Advanced proficiency in data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Strong skills in Excel, financial modelling, and analytics and insights.
• Experience working with SQL and at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, R, SAS) is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical findings for non-technical audiences.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and quality.

• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., JEDOX, SAP Analytics Cloud, AWS, Azure).
• Exposure to advanced analytics techniques (e.g., predictive analytics, machine learning).
• Experience supporting system implementation and change management initiatives.
