About the role

As the Head of AI/ML, you will play a pivotal role in leading the development of industry-leading, clinically relevant AI-enabled products that improve healthcare outcomes. You will oversee a multidisciplinary technical team, champion Agile methodologies, and ensure compliance with medical-grade software standards (ISO 13485). Your expertise will guide architecture decisions, model development, and delivery while fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

This leadership position requires collaboration across clinical, commercial, regulatory, and product teams to align technology strategies with market needs. You will also engage with external stakeholders, including clinicians, clients, and partners, to ensure product-market fit and deliver impactful solutions.

What you’ll do

• Strategic Leadership: Define and execute long-term technical strategies aligned with organisational goals
• AI/ML Development: Lead the design, execution, and delivery of scalable AI models with clinical value
• Team Leadership: Inspire and mentor a high-performing technical team while driving continuous learning
• Innovation & IP Strategy: Foster innovation through R&D projects and manage intellectual property development
• Compliance & Cybersecurity: Ensure adherence to industry regulations (ISO 13485, HIPAA) and uphold data security standards
• Stakeholder Engagement: Translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences and liaise with clinicians and partners

What you’ll bring

• Minimum 15 years in senior technology roles, including 5+ years in leadership positions within regulated or high-growth environments
• Proven experience delivering cloud-based platforms, medical devices/software, or AI-driven solutions
• Expertise in AI/ML technologies, cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure), web technologies, and modern software architecture
• Strong knowledge of regulated environments (ISO 13485/FDA/TGA) and intellectual property management
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional and distributed technical teams
• Strong communication, innovation mindset, and strategic problem‑solving skills
• Postgraduate qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, AI/ML, or related field
