Senior Technology Officer

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Technology Officer to join a highly respected organisation based in Brisbane.

What You’ll Do

  • Demonstrate strong proficiency in Windows OS environments, including troubleshooting user profiles, group policies, and system performance issues.
  • Coordinate and lead IT support services for the Helpdesk, ensuring responsive and client-focused desktop, application, and technology support.
  • Provide expert-level support across Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues, performing advanced troubleshooting and detailed analysis to identify and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Manage user accounts and permissions within on-prem Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD).
  • Interpret and respond to security alerts from SIEM platforms, addressing anomalies, configuration changes, and suspicious activities.
  • Install, configure, and test new software, assisting with deployment processes to ensure seamless end-user transitions.
  • Communicate and consult effectively with stakeholders to understand technology requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Collaborate with both internal IT teams and external technology suppliers to ensure the integration and smooth delivery of IT services.
  • Support the Manager of Business Systems in implementing IT projects, taking ownership of technical delivery throughout project lifecycles.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and security protocols, maintaining quality standards aligned with industry best practices.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN connectivity, and on-premises troubleshooting.

What You Bring

  • Hands-on experience with ticketing platforms such as ServiceNow, Freshservice, Jira, or Salesforce Service Cloud.
  • Expertise in endpoint support, including imaging, patching, driver issues, and peripheral troubleshooting (printers, scanners, POS).
  • Basic scripting or automation skills (e.g., PowerShell, batch scripts) for system tasks and log analysis.
  • Experience supporting Salesforce, particularly in customer service or workflow automation environments.
  • Familiarity with remote support tools (e.g., TeamViewer, Intune, RDP) for distributed user support.
  • Proven capability in systems administration, including device management, server maintenance, configuration, and deployment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective technical solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience working collaboratively with internal IT teams and external vendors for integrated service delivery.
  • Exposure to bespoke business systems (e.g., VisualFiles, eDocs, or Elite) and database management (highly regarded).
  • Ability to supervise and mentor team members, including task allocation and professional development.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and development within the IT space.
  • A process-driven and adaptable mindset, thriving in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
