What you'll do:

As a Fullstack Developer, you will immerse yourself in a dynamic environment where collaboration is key. Your day-to-day activities will involve working closely with both internal teams and external clients to shape the architecture of innovative medical device software products. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring these solutions not only meet client expectations but also adhere strictly to regulatory requirements. By leveraging your experience across front-end and back-end technologies - particularly React JS, NodeJS, Python - and your understanding of cloud-based infrastructure such as AWS serverless services, you will help drive projects from conception through delivery. Your ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders will be essential as you translate complex requirements into practical solutions. • Provide expert guidance to the technical team on modern development techniques, design principles, and effective management or estimation of development stories.
• Participate actively in every stage of the software development life cycle, from initial concept through deployment and ongoing support.
• Create comprehensive test scripts and detailed test cases to ensure high-quality deliverables that meet regulatory standards for medical device software.
• Identify, manage, and resolve problems or issues during development, escalating complex challenges when necessary to achieve timely solutions.
• Prepare thorough documentation outlining solution builds, configuration data, and operational support details for internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with clients to gather requirements, translating their needs into actionable technical specifications that align with business objectives.
• Work hand-in-hand with the AI development team to integrate machine learning models into production systems safely and efficiently.
• Ensure all software developed complies with relevant FDA or TGA regulations governing medical device applications.
• Contribute to web application security by implementing best practices across both front-end and back-end components.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by sharing knowledge within the team and participating in code reviews or agile ceremonies.

To excel as a Fullstack Developer in this setting, you will bring proven experience designing and building robust web applications using modern frameworks like React JS for front-end interfaces and NodeJS or Python for back-end logic. Your background should include direct involvement with regulated environments -ideally having delivered projects classified as software as a medical device - where attention to detail and adherence to compliance standards are paramount. Familiarity with integrating AI/ML models into live systems will set you apart, as will your understanding of cloud-native architectures leveraging AWS serverless tools. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Information Technology or Computer Science from a recognised tertiary institution.
• Have at least five years’ experience working in a full stack capacity within commercial environments.
• Demonstrate two years’ hands-on experience developing software as a medical device (SaMD), including familiarity with relevant compliance frameworks.
• Possess working knowledge of integrating AI or machine learning models into production-grade software systems.
• Understand FDA or TGA regulations as they pertain to medical device software development processes.
• Show proficiency in Web API design and RESTful web services implementation for scalable applications.
• Exhibit strong skills in React JS front end development coupled with NodeJS or Python back end expertise.
• Apply best practices in web application security across all layers of the stack.
• Experience with image processing or 3D modelling applications would be advantageous but not essential.
• Exposure to AWS serverless technologies such as Lambda, DynamoDB, Fargate, S3, API Gateway, Step Functions, EC2, RDS, Cloudfront is highly regarded.
