Senior Backend Engineer - Node.js, TypeScript, AWS

Backend-oriented role with a heavy AWS solution design element. Deep experience w/ AWS Lambda, CloudFormation and IAM role configuration are a must. 6 month contract with the potential to extend.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Node.js/TypeScript backend services
• Develop and configure AWS Lambda functions
• Deploy infrastructure using CloudFormation (including CI/CD-driven deployments)
• Configure and manage IAM roles and secure integrations (e.g. Secrets Manager)
• Extend and maintain features built with React and TypeScript
• Contribute to system design and architectural decisions
• Participate in CI/CD pipeline improvements (CodeBuild)
• Troubleshoot production issues and deliver pragmatic solutions

Must-Have Skills

• Strong Node.js experience
• Strong TypeScript experience
• Hands-on AWS experience, particularly:
• Lambda (including configuration and deployment)
• CloudFormation (infrastructure as code)
• IAM role configuration
• Experience building and deploying Lambdas via CI/CD
• Experience working in environments where engineers own both development and DevOps responsibilities
• Solid system design and architecture knowledge
• Strong problem-solving ability and communication skills

• AWS CodeBuild (pipeline creation and management)
• React (frontend plugin development)
