Why did you choose the Robert Walters Graduate Program?

Similar to many graduates, I was unsure about which career path I wanted to take. After completing my degree in Human Resources, I initially was in search for a HR job opportunity but throughout my job search I came across graduate recruitment consultant roles which I was keen to learn more about. 

After a few interviews with Robert Walters I came to understand the benefits of moving into a sales environment, not only from a career perspective but also from a remuneration perspective. 

What was your experience of the recruitment process? 

The recruitment process was quite thorough and after working at Robert Walters for over three years, I understand the importance why. Having direct engagement with the Directors of the business from the outset inspired me and reassured me that, with the right commitment and attitude, their success could be a possibility for my own career. 

What career progression opportunities have you had?

Robert Walters continually provide opportunities for consultants who embrace the entrepreneurial spirit of the business and actively play a role in their own success and the success of their team. On top of this, the investment in career progression and best in class training is something I have experienced first hand, going from Consultant to Managing Consultant in three years. 

I wanted to be in a role where I could be part of a strong team and earn a higher salary than typical graduates with the right attitude, energy and motivations to succeed.

Advice to those considering recruitment?

Recruitment can be challenging, but this is balanced out by the sense of reward and the skills gained including sales, customer service and stakeholder management.  If you have the right attitude and have structured goals in place, then there is a world of opportunity accessible to you.
