What you'll do:
As a Financial Accountant in this contract position based in Sydney CBD, you will be entrusted with key responsibilities that underpin the organisation’s financial health. - Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards and organisational policies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness at all stages.

- Maintain up-to-date records of all financial transactions using accounting software systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the preparation of budgets and forecasts by providing detailed analysis of historical trends, current performance metrics, and potential risks or opportunities.
- Monitor compliance with statutory obligations including GST, BAS, payroll tax, and other relevant regulations by preparing returns and liaising with authorities as needed.
- Identify areas for process improvement within the finance function by reviewing existing procedures and recommending enhancements that promote efficiency and accuracy.

- Proficiency in using major accounting software packages such as SAP, Oracle, or MYOB for transaction processing, reconciliations, and report generation.

- Excellent interpersonal skills that allow you to communicate clearly with colleagues at all levels while fostering positive relationships built on trust and mutual respect.
