Senior Fund Accountant

Save job

This is an exceptional opportunity for you to play a pivotal role in supporting a multi-billion dollar infrastructure fund, renowned for its long-term stability and commitment to sustainability. You will be part of a collaborative, knowledgeable team that values your expertise and offers flexible working opportunities, generous remuneration, and exposure to some of the most significant infrastructure assets across Australia and the United Kingdom.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Fund Accountant, you will play an integral role in delivering high-quality financial services for one of Australia’s leading infrastructure funds. Your day-to-day responsibilities will see you preparing detailed monthly accounts, producing insightful management reports for senior leadership, coordinating statutory audits, overseeing complex tax compliance matters, managing treasury operations, and delivering transparent investor communications. You will work closely with colleagues across various departments to ensure seamless service delivery while continuously identifying opportunities for process enhancement. Your ability to balance technical excellence with strong interpersonal skills will be key to building trusted relationships both internally and externally. This is an exciting opportunity for you to apply your expertise in a dynamic environment where your contributions directly support long-term value creation for institutional investors.

  • Prepare monthly unit pricing and management accounts for a diversified portfolio of infrastructure assets, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all deliverables.
  • Produce comprehensive management and board reports that provide valuable insights into fund performance and support strategic decision-making processes.
  • Lead statutory financial reporting activities, including coordination with external auditors to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Oversee tax compliance matters such as trust distributable income calculations and company tax obligations, collaborating closely with internal tax specialists.
  • Manage treasury functions including liquidity monitoring, cash flow forecasting, and optimisation of capital allocation across multiple entities.
  • Deliver clear, concise investor and fund performance reports tailored to the needs of institutional stakeholders, maintaining transparency and trust at all times.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives within the finance function to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability as the fund continues to grow.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Investment, Investor Solutions, Tax, Legal, Risk, and Compliance to achieve shared objectives.
  • Support ad hoc projects related to new investments or regulatory changes by providing expert financial analysis and recommendations.
  • Maintain meticulous records and documentation to facilitate smooth audit processes and uphold best practice governance.

What you bring:

To excel as a Senior Fund Accountant in this organisation’s finance team, you will bring proven experience from similar roles within funds or investment management settings. Your technical expertise will be complemented by excellent communication skills that allow you to build rapport with stakeholders at all levels. You thrive when working collaboratively towards shared goals—valuing humility as much as precision—and are adept at navigating complex reporting cycles without losing sight of broader business objectives. Your ability to manage competing priorities calmly under pressure sets you apart as someone who can be depended upon during critical periods. Above all else, your commitment to continuous improvement ensures that processes remain robust even as the fund grows in scale and complexity.

  • CA or CPA qualification with at least three years’ post-qualification experience
  • Experience working within funds management or investment management environments is essential for this role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in preparing management accounts, statutory financial statements, and board-level reporting packages within complex organisational structures.
  • Comprehensive understanding of tax compliance requirements relevant to trusts and companies operating in the investment sector.
  • Exceptional communication skills enabling you to convey complex financial information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to share knowledge openly while contributing positively to team culture.
  • Experience engaging constructively with auditors, tax advisors, legal counsel or other external partners on technical matters is highly desirable.
  • A friendly yet confident approach that fosters trust among colleagues as well as institutional investors.
