What you'll do:

As an Accountant in this Melbourne-based organisation, you will be entrusted with a broad range of responsibilities that are essential to maintaining robust financial health. Your day-to-day activities will involve preparing comprehensive financial reports that guide decision-making at every level of the business. You will be responsible for keeping the general ledger accurate through diligent reconciliation efforts, supporting both routine operations and long-term planning through effective budgeting assistance. Your expertise will be called upon when managing tax obligations such as BAS and PAYG lodgements, as well as during interactions with external auditors. By overseeing accounts payable and receivable processes where needed, you will help maintain positive relationships with suppliers and clients alike. Additionally, you will contribute to system upgrades or process enhancements that keep the finance function efficient.   • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements with precision to ensure all stakeholders have access to accurate information.
  • Maintain the general ledger by recording transactions promptly and reconciling accounts regularly to uphold financial integrity.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing reliable data and collaborating closely with other departments to achieve organisational goals.
  • Assist with the preparation and lodgement of BAS, PAYG, and other tax obligations in compliance with Australian regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with external auditors during audits, ensuring all documentation is complete and regulatory requirements are met.
