What you'll do:
As a Senior Commercial Credit Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating complex commercial finance applications from Australian SMEs. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve conducting thorough analyses of applicant financials, leading insightful discussions with clients to verify critical details, and preparing clear recommendations for internal committees. You will also act as a mentor within the credit team—reviewing junior analysts’ work, providing actionable feedback, and helping them develop their skills. Collaboration is central to this position; you’ll work closely with both credit managers and sales colleagues to ensure every application meets rigorous standards while supporting business growth objectives. - Conduct detailed credit analysis on complex commercial loan applications to ensure all risks are thoroughly assessed and material assumptions are verified.
- Lead robust credit calls with business loan applicants to clarify key information and mitigate potential risks associated with each application.
- Prepare well-supported recommendations for the Deal Review Committee that align with internal policies and uphold high-quality standards.
- Support Credit Managers by reviewing assessments completed by junior team members, ensuring accuracy and adherence to required quality benchmarks.
- Provide timely feedback and guidance to junior credit analysts to foster their development and enhance the overall capability of the credit team.
- Build strong working relationships with sales team members to facilitate seamless communication throughout the credit assessment process.
- Assist in upskilling the sales team by delivering constructive feedback on credit submissions and data collection practices.
- Contribute to maintaining an open, respectful team culture where knowledge sharing and continuous improvement are encouraged.
- Participate in regular training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities designed to keep the team at the forefront of industry best practices.
