An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Specialist to join a highly respected organisation in Sydney, where your expertise will directly contribute to the delivery of life-changing solutions. This full-time position offers you the chance to play a pivotal role in shaping procurement strategies and optimising performance within a supportive and collaborative environment.

What you'll do:

As a Procurement Specialist based in Sydney, you will immerse yourself in a dynamic environment where your day-to-day responsibilities revolve around driving excellence across all facets of procurement.

  • Develop, implement, and execute procurement processes and strategies designed to optimise the performance of the procurement function in alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Manage supplier relationships as well as internal stakeholder engagement by establishing effective communication channels that foster trust and transparency.
  • Oversee all buying activities including order placement, maintenance of procurement data, non-compliance management, inventory oversight, forecasting reports, stock takes, and budget-related tasks as required.
  • Support strategic sourcing initiatives by providing relevant inputs for the creation, ratification, and periodic review of category strategies that underpin key business outcomes.
  • Take accountability for the execution of category strategies to ensure timely achievement of project milestones within new product developments or other critical initiatives.
  • Measure supplier performance using criteria such as delivery reliability, quality standards, capacity planning, cost efficiency, and other agreed metrics.
  • Offer commercial advice and guidance to internal teams regarding supplier management and contract administration to secure favourable outcomes for the organisation.
  • Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory systems relevant to medical device companies through diligent monitoring and reporting.

What you bring:

To excel as a Procurement Specialist in this role, you will bring proven experience gained from working within complex commercial environments where procurement plays a central role.

  • Demonstrated experience in procurement within a commercial setting encompassing project work, service delivery coordination, technology integration or supplier management responsibilities.
  • Proven ability to manage supplier operations effectively with sound judgement when assessing supplier capabilities and evaluating commercial proposals.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills supported by a track record of success in managing suppliers and conducting contract negotiations that yield beneficial results for all parties involved.
  • Comprehensive understanding of supplier contracts coupled with initiative in seeking timely technical or operational advice from both internal experts and external partners when needed.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within teams as well as independently when required; demonstrating flexibility in adapting to changing priorities or project demands.
  • Excellent communication skills enabling you to build positive relationships with stakeholders at all levels across the organisation.
  • Adeptness at resolving daily operational challenges swiftly while maintaining focus on long-term objectives.
