Deal Analyst

Save job

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on delivering exceptional client service and technical expertise, particularly in the onboarding and ongoing management of Trust Management clients. You will play a pivotal part in pitching to prospective clients, building complex financial models, reviewing legal documentation, and designing operational procedures that ensure seamless delivery of trust management services.

The organisation offers a supportive environment where your contributions are valued, with opportunities to collaborate across teams, share knowledge, and help shape best practices within the industry. Flexible working arrangements and a commitment to professional development make this an ideal position for those looking to advance their career in securitisation while enjoying work-life balance.

  • Play a key role in onboarding new Trust Management clients by providing expert technical advice and building robust financial cashflow models tailored to client needs.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, including institutional banks, investors, and asset originators, ensuring all contractual obligations are met with precision and care.
  • Benefit from flexible working opportunities and ongoing training initiatives designed to support your professional growth within a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment.

What you'll do:

As a Securitisation Deal Analyst, you will be at the heart of the trust management function—working collaboratively with colleagues across finance, risk, data services, and transaction management teams. Your day-to-day responsibilities will see you engaging directly with clients from initial pitch through onboarding and ongoing relationship management. You will leverage your technical skills to build detailed financial models in Excel (including VBA), review complex legal documentation for accuracy in cash flow descriptions, design operational processes that underpin effective trust administration, and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance. Your ability to communicate clearly with both internal stakeholders and external partners such as banks or rating agencies will be essential as you deliver monthly reports, reconcile accounts, execute settlements, respond to queries, manage billing cycles, and contribute valuable insights through research or project work. Success in this role comes from your attention to detail, proactive approach to problem-solving, willingness to share knowledge with junior team members, and commitment to maintaining high standards in risk management.

  • Present Trust Management Services alongside the sales team to prospective clients, taking ownership of client relationships throughout the onboarding process.
  • Review transaction documents and legal agreements to ensure accurate representation of cash flows and contractual obligations within established risk frameworks.
  • Develop sophisticated Excel-based cash flow models for new clients, adhering strictly to legal documentation requirements and model frameworks.
  • Design, implement, and refine operational procedures for ongoing trust management, ensuring all obligations are captured accurately in the obligation management system.
  • Conduct periodic audits and reviews of cash flow models for both new and existing clients to maintain high standards of accuracy and compliance.
  • Build VBA-based cash flow models as required for new trust management mandates, ensuring technical robustness and reliability.
  • Actively manage an allocated portfolio of securitisation trust management clients by preparing monthly reports, reconciling trust bank accounts, and executing settlement requests.
  • Monitor daily operations of assigned trusts to guarantee all contractual commitments to transaction parties are fulfilled promptly and accurately.
  • Support the Head of Trust Management with key projects, resource planning, disaster recovery testing, risk management activities, and ad-hoc assignments as needed.
  • Respond efficiently to client and investor queries while managing aged debtors, accruals, billing processes, and contributing research or reporting as required.

What you bring:

To excel as a Securitisation Deal Analyst you will bring proven experience from within the securitisation sector or similar environments where analytical rigour meets client service excellence. Your educational background will include a relevant degree—ideally complemented by progress towards professional accounting or finance qualifications. You possess advanced Excel skills (with exposure to VBA), enabling you to construct robust financial models that stand up under scrutiny. Your interpersonal abilities allow you to build rapport quickly with clients while collaborating effectively across internal teams. You have demonstrated resilience when managing competing priorities under tight deadlines without compromising on quality or accuracy. A keen eye for detail supports your approach to reviewing legal documents or conducting audits; meanwhile your commitment to sharing knowledge helps foster an inclusive team culture where everyone can thrive. Above all else you are motivated by delivering dependable outcomes that meet both regulatory requirements and client expectations.

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in business, economics or finance is essential; a strong technical background is highly regarded for this position.
  • Professional qualifications such as CA/CPA/CFA or current progress towards these certifications are considered advantageous but not mandatory.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working within securitisation or a related field is required for success in this role.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively while handling multiple priorities under strict deadlines is crucial.
  • Excellent communication skills are necessary for presenting information clearly to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in client relationship management with an empathetic approach that fosters long-term partnerships is highly valued.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including modelling) is essential; experience with VBA programming or SQL is desirable but not compulsory.
  • A strong focus on risk management principles ensures adherence to quality assurance frameworks at all times.
  • Experience preparing detailed reports for senior management or external parties such as auditors or rating agencies is beneficial.
  • A collaborative mindset with a willingness to provide technical support and training to junior team members enhances overall team performance.
