Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Solution Architect to lead the technical architecture and integration strategy for a large-scale SAP SuccessFactors implementation at a major public water utility in New South Wales. This role will focus on the complex integration landscape between SuccessFactors and key legacy SaaS/On-premise systems, including UKG Kronos Workforce Central, Chris21 and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and reporting tools such asPowerBI, ensuring a seamless transition to a modern cloud-based HR platform.
The successful candidate will bridge the gap between business needs, enterprise architecture, and implementation delivery, with a strong focus on public sector compliance, data governance, and legacy coexistence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Integration, Middleware & Data Exchange part of the technical design and architecture for the SAP SuccessFactors implementation across modules such as Employee Central, Recruitment, Performance, and Learning.
- Define and deliver scalable, secure integration strategies for Chris21 (payroll), UKG Kronos (time & attendance), Microsoft Dynamics (finance) and reporting solutions, such as PowerBI.
- Support co-existence and transition strategies for legacy systems during phased implementation and eventual decommissioning.
- Design and document interface specifications, data flow mappings, and integration touchpoints via SAP Integration Suite (CPI), Power Platform and other middleware (e.g., Boomi, etc).
- Work closely with data and security teams to ensure compliance with NSW Government data privacy regulations, including secure handling of Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
- Provide support & oversight on data migration strategies from legacy systems into SAP SuccessFactors, ensuring high data quality and audit compliance.
- Collaborate with project managers, functional consultants, vendors, and NSW Government stakeholders to align technical deliverables with business outcomes.
- Support integration testing activities & resolving of technical issues
- Present architectural designs and decisions to governance boards and IT architecture forums.
Key Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field; postgraduate qualifications desirable.
- 7+ years in solution architecture or enterprise systems design.
- Proven experience integrating SAP SuccessFactors with corporate / legacy systems, particularly:
- Chris21 (Payroll)
- UKG Kronos (time & attendance)
- Microsoft Dynamics (Financials or Reporting)
- ServiceNow (Inquiry Management, Onboarding)
- PowerBI (Reporting)
- Power Platform
- Deep familiarity with NSW Government IT frameworks, security protocols, and regulatory obligations.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of HR business processes across the employee lifecycle.
- Advanced knowledge of middleware platforms (e.g., SAP CPI, Dell Boomi, etc).
- Ability to manage integration design in a hybrid cloud/on-premise environment.
- Experience with data migration, master data management, and system cutover planning.
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills and ability to work with business, IT, and vendor teams.
- Strong documentation and presentation skills aligned with NSW public sector standards.
Desirable:
- Experience with NSW Government or critical infrastructure utilities (e.g., water, energy).
- Familiarity with ServiceNow, Active Directory/Azure AD, and identity management integrations.
- SAP certifications in SuccessFactors or SAP Integration Suite (CPI).
