* $700-$850 p/d + Super * 12 Months + Likely Extensions * Sydney CBD/WFH Flexibility Technical Consultant to provide expert assessment and review of complex technical appeals, ensuring compliance with legislation. Deliver clear advice, reports, and manage stakeholder relationships while meeting strict timeframes in a dynamic environment.
This newly established team’s purpose is to support the delivery of the strategic roadmap to consolidate and harmonise shared services operations and systems across the NSW public sector.
Involving the consolidation of ERP systems and processes, IT service and incident management and travel and expense management, the program will lead to a better employee experience and enable more efficient sector mobility. Additionally, common, streamlined and efficient processes will allow our people to better focus on our customers.
The Technical Consultant will Research and analyse relevant information in order to make appropriate decisions on appeals received from members of the public, following claims which have been determined in line with relevant NSW legislation administered by the Division. This role is a technical specialist who reviews the decisions made by other experts in the relevant field.
Key accountabilities
• Conduct assessments of reviewable decisions and deliver decisions, actions and outcomes in accordance with legislative requirements and regulations.
• Prepare and present expert technical advice, reports and submissions to make independent and appropriate recommendations in accordance with legislative requirements, regulations and delegated authorities.
• Deliver professional customer service to deliver a superior end to end customer experience.
• Provide specialist information and advice to internal and external stakeholders in a manner which allows for clear understanding of the review process and legislative obligations.
• Produce high quality reports, briefings and other correspondence that is appropriate for its intended audience.
• Be an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity, legality, and confidence in the reviewable decisions process.
• Apply a systematic and disciplined approach to the reviewable decisions process, to manage multiple applications with varying degrees of complexity and mandatory statutory timeframes.
• Manage stakeholder relationships through effective communication and negotiation meet organisational objectives.

• Ensuring timeframes and legislative requirements are met while balancing competing needs and expectations of internal and external stakeholders in a sometimes politically charged environment.
• Keeping up to date with the range, pace and complexity of information, knowledge, and legislation required to deliver quality services
Key knowledge and experience
• Experience in analysing, categorising, and determining the causes of damage to various structures.
• Demonstrated ability to perform and/or review forensic engineering investigations relating to damage due to ground movement.
