Senior IDAM Engineer (Forgerock)

Senior IDAM Engineer - Forgerock Location: Sydney and/or Canberra Work Type: Hybrid (Minimum 2 days onsite per week) Contract Duration: 12 months (with potential 12-month extension) Security Clearance: Must be eligible for Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) Industry: Federal Government

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, testing, and implementation of identity management frameworks and protocols.
• Configure ForgeRock components and ensure service stability for current and future workloads.
• Implement and manage IAM systems including SSO, authentication, and access controls.
• Develop secure application deployment patterns and ensure IAM systems function as intended.
• Collaborate with internal SMEs and project teams to deliver secure and scalable identity solutions.

Mandatory Skills and Experience

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with the ForgeRock Identity Platform (Access Management and Identity Management modules).
• Proven experience in secure government environments (federal, state, or similar).
• Strong background in IAM standards, best practices, and software solutions.
• Experience with ForgeRock suite design, implementation, and maintenance.
• Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving IAM-related technical issues.
• Experience deploying solutions in highly secure and highly available environments.

Desirable Skills

• Experience in enhancing IAM systems to counter evolving security threats.
• Knowledge of DevOps and automation practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively across business and infrastructure teams.

• Maximum hours: 40 per week
• Working model: Hybrid (subject to operational requirements)
• Citizenship: Australian citizenship required
• Clearance: Must be able to obtain NV1 clearance
