WHS Advisor / Coordinator
An exciting opportunity exists for a WHS Advisor / Coordinator to join a high-performing food manufacturing business undergoing significant operational growth and transformation. This hands-on role will focus on driving a strong safety culture, enhancing WHS frameworks, and improving training and compliance practices. You'll work closely with leaders and front-line teams to implement meaningful change and ensure the well-being of employees across a fast-paced environment.
A leading and high-growth manufacturing business is seeking an experienced and proactive WHS Advisor / Coordinator to join their team during an exciting period of operational transformation. This is a pivotal role where you’ll ensure the effective implementation of WHS and training systems, support safety and wellbeing initiatives, and act as a trusted partner to both operational teams and leadership.
You’ll work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and take ownership of the business’s health, safety, training, and return-to-work systems – driving cultural change and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities

Lead WHS incident investigations, risk assessments, and corrective action processes to ensure a safe and compliant workplace

Deliver advice and support on WHS and Workers Compensation legislation to leaders and teams across the business

Manage Return to Work (RTW) coordination, including planning, compliance, and regular follow-up for injured workers

Contribute to internal and external audit processes and maintain relevant documentation to meet regulatory and business standards

Develop, deliver and track internal training programs to upskill staff and improve safety awareness and behaviours

Organise external training delivery and liaise with providers to ensure quality outcomes

Maintain and continuously improve WHS and training documentation, registers and policies

Collaborate with leaders across departments to embed safety and training into day-to-day operations

Promote a culture of accountability and wellbeing through strategic WHS engagement and communication
The Ideal Profile
To be successful in this role, you will have:

Relevant WHS qualifications (minimum Cert IV in WHS)

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) – highly desirable

Proven experience in a WHS role within a manufacturing or operationally intensive environment (food or FMCG preferred)

Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, workers compensation, RTW coordination, and audit processes

Excellent organisational, documentation and record-keeping skills

Ability to deliver effective training and safety messaging to employees across all levels

Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement capabilities

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and confident navigating WHS systems

A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and a passion for building safe and high-performing workplaces
