Save job

Robert Walters is proud to partner exclusively with a respected industry body to recruit an experienced Employment Relations Advisor. This role places you at the centre of Queensland’s dynamic hospitality and tourism sector, supporting a broad member base—from family-owned venues to major accommodation groups—by providing expert guidance on ER, compliance, and workplace legislation across a wide range of employment matters.

Are you passionate about workplace relations and love helping businesses navigate the complexities of employment law? We’re partnering exclusively with a high-profile industry body to find a talented Employment Relations Advisor to join their expert team.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of Queensland’s hospitality and tourism sector, supporting a diverse membership base—from family-run pubs to premium accommodation providers—on a broad range of ER and compliance matters.

What You’ll Be Doing

As the first point of contact for member enquiries, your day will be varied, engaging and impactful. You’ll:

  • Provide accurate, practical advice on Modern Awards, NES, public holiday entitlements, performance management, terminations, redundancies, and more

  • Assist members with long service leave calculations and annual wage reviews

  • Support and advocate during Fair Work Commission or Human Rights Tribunal matters

  • Write practical ER content including fact sheets, guides and bulletins

  • Deliver webinars and occasional training programs to members

  • Build strong working relationships across the member network

What You’ll Bring

  • Solid knowledge of the Fair Work Act 2009 and modern awards

  • Proven experience delivering ER advice—ideally in a member services, legal or employer association setting

  • Confidence in written and verbal communication, with the ability to simplify complex legislation

  • Strong research, case prep and advocacy skills

  • Exceptional time management and the ability to juggle priorities

  • A team-player mindset with the initiative to work independently

Why You’ll Love It

This is your chance to:

  • Be a trusted advisor to hundreds of employers across Queensland

  • Work in a highly respected and long-standing organisation with influence and purpose

  • Enjoy variety, autonomy and the opportunity to build strong industry connections

  • Be part of a collaborative and values-driven team in Brisbane’s CBD
