DevOps Platform Engineer

This critical role involves maintaining, optimising and integrating the DevOps toolchain to support cloud and application engineering teams in achieving their platform, automation and operational objectives. The successful candidate will ensure that the toolchain seamlessly integrates into infrastructure and application CI/CD workflows and operates reliably, securely and efficiently. This role combines technical expertise with a strong emphasis on compliance, driving automation and enabling engineering teams to maximise the value of these tools.

What you'll do:

As a DevOps Platform Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in administering, enhancing and integrating various tools such as GitLab, Terraform, Prisma, Vault, Nexus, Exabeam. You will be responsible for monitoring toolchain performance and usage while addressing any bottlenecks or inefficiencies. Your role will involve implementing updates and patches promptly to ensure security and operational stability. Collaborating with cloud and application engineers to align pipeline workflows with organisational standards will be a key part of your role. You will also provide guidance, documentation and training to engineering teams on effective toolchain usage.

• Administer, patch and enhance integrated tools such as GitLab, Terraform, Prisma, Vault, Nexus, Exabeam
• Monitor toolchain performance and usage, addressing bottlenecks or inefficiencies
• Implement updates and patches promptly to ensure security and operational stability
• Collaborate with cloud and application engineers to align pipeline workflows with organisational standards
• Provide guidance, documentation and training to engineering teams on effective toolchain usage
• Support engineers in troubleshooting pipeline and toolchain issues
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and implement solutions to improve operational efficiency

What you bring:

• Deep experience with technologies like Gitlab for version control and pipelines, Terraform Enterprise for IaC, Nexus for artefactory management Hashicorp Vault for secrets management
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation
• Experience working in platform engineering teams that have provisioned and run cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and data platforms (preferably Databricks)
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps concepts, frameworks and practices
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex platform issues
