Systems Analyst Financial Applications

Our client is on the lookout for a Systems Analyst with a focus on financial reporting tools. The successful candidate will have the chance to develop and maintain systems that generate the organisation's financial reporting capabilities. This role is based in Sydney and offers flexible working opportunities. This is a 12-month contract role.

What you'll do:

  • Translate key financial reporting outcomes into technical requirements for production in financial reporting tools.
  • Build effective working relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and developers to meet financial reporting outcomes in desired time lines.
  • Deliver financial reporting solutions in accordance with team requirements, ensuring flexibility to accommodate potential changes over time.
  • Monitor control of financial information in finance reporting tool to ensure users have appropriate access levels.
  • Manage projects impacting financial reporting and systems which are relied on as sources of information.
  • Prioritise and project manage financial reporting requests received, maintaining a clear record of progress and status in development.
  • Propose and clearly document solutions and reporting to match user needs along with any reporting issues that may arise.
  • Monitor use of developer budget and control impact on users during the development of solutions.
  • Manage Projects involving financial reporting systems, including preparation of Project Plans, elicitation and clarification of Project Requirements, monitoring and controlling of Project Progress.
  • Perform and/or oversee user acceptance testing (UAT) for all changes and new reporting developments.


What you bring:

  • Experience with BI tool implementation, use of Calumo desirable but not essential.
  • Strong technical SQL programming capability, experience with differing database platforms desirable.
  • Experience with documentation management tools such as Confluence desirable.
  • Project management experience, Project Management Certification desirable.
  • Experience with Python or a similar scripting/tooling language is desirable.
