Group Director ICT & Business Services
The Department of the Premier and Cabinet (DPC) is responsible for developing policy and delivering programs to realise the government’s vision for South Australia. The department has a strategic vision for the South Australian economy that is fit for the future, smart, sustainable, and inclusive, whilst improving the well-being of all South Australians.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Group Director, ICT & Business Services will offer strategic leadership and oversee the delivery of high-quality, customer-centric ICT and business services ensuring they align with the DPC’s strategic and operational requirements. You will be responsible for leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver a variety of customer focussed corporate services. This includes a full suite of ICT services from infrastructure and service desk through to cyber security, incident and change management. This will be complemented by a range of business services from facilities and accommodation, through to asset management, corporate governance, grants management, risk and audit. You will foster a culture of excellence and collaboration to create a high performing environment where customer service is integrated into the team’s operations.
This is a three-year executive term appointment.
The role will be expected to drive collaboration and bring together multidisciplinary teams to achieve results, manage critical issues and contribute to the delivery of strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and advance ICT and Business Services strategic and operational priorities ensuring alignment with DPC’s objectives by engaging with executives and senior managers to understand current and future needs.
- Cultivate an environment of continuous improvement and capability enhancement to ensure the provision of a comprehensive range of best practice corporate services.
- Lead and oversee complex and innovative projects, identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Provide high level advice to the Chief Operating Officer and other senior executives regarding unresolved or emerging issues, barriers or opportunities impacting on work outcomes.
- Build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and promote the shared benefits of innovation and new ideas.
- Manage sensitive and complex projects, investigations or other matters as part of DPC’s role in supporting its stakeholders.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as an executive leader or a similar level managerial position.
- Leadership experience in ICT with proven business services and management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage the implementation of significant business change in a large and complex service orientated organisation.
- Experience in leading a corporate services team with diverse functions including identifying opportunities for improving business delivery through re-engineering, improved technology and other change management processes.
- Display high level strategic thinking and planning and ability to analyse problems, generate and evaluate alternative solutions and make recommendations.
You will need to be a self-motivated individual with the ability to build collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and decision makers. You’re a customer focused professional that’s driven to exceed expectations by providing solutions to problems. This role is vital to the continued success in contributing to a department who are dedicated to quality and integrity and an inclusive working environment.
