Systems Administrator/Engineer - Vmware, Automation

Our client is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to play an integral role in infrastructure migration. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with key stakeholders to ensure efficiency across migration and modernisation. This role offers a hybrid work environment and the chance to work on critical systems.

What you'll do:

  • Support, maintain, and enhance enterprise infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Assist in migrating activity to modernised infrastructure, ensuring minimal disruption to critical systems
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure automation to improve system efficiency and scalability.
  • Proactively monitor system health, diagnose issues, and implement solutions to improve reliability.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to align infrastructure solutions with business needs.

What you bring:

  • 6+ years experience in a system admin/engineer or related roles in enterprise environments.
  • Expertise in server administration (Windows or Linux), virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V), and storage solutions.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Python).
  • Knowledge of networking, security best practices, and identity management.
  • Relevant certifications (Microsoft, AWS, VMware) are highly regarded.
