Release Manager

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Release Manager to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop and maintain release plans, schedules, and deployment strategies in alignment with project timelines and business objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating release activities across multiple teams, facilitating release readiness reviews, managing the resolution of release-related issues, and enforcing release management processes and policies. This role is primarily focused on the Release and Environment Management of the non-production environments. What you'll do:

As a Release Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining release plans that align with project timelines and business objectives. You will coordinate activities across multiple teams, facilitate readiness reviews, manage issue resolution, and enforce management processes. Your role extends to overseeing the configuration of various environments to support release activities. You will also work closely with the Change Manager to assess the impact of proposed changes.

Develop and maintain release plans, schedules, and deployment strategies
Coordinate release activities across multiple teams
Facilitate release readiness reviews, milestone meetings, and post-implementation reviews
Manage the resolution of release-related issues and conflicts
Enforce release management processes and policies
Oversee the configuration and maintenance of development, testing, staging, and production environments
Implement environment standards, policies, and procedures
Coordinate environment provisioning and refresh activities
Monitor environment health and performance
Work closely with Change Manager to assess the impact of proposed changes

With a strong understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies, you are proficient in using release management tools. Your in-depth knowledge of ITIL practices sets you apart from others. Your ability to assess risks associated with software releases is commendable. Above all, your excellent communication skills enable you to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
Proven experience (3+ years) in IT release management or related IT disciplines
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies
Proficiency in release management tools
In-depth knowledge of ITIL practices; Agile and DevOps are a plus
Experience with risk assessment and mitigation strategies related to software releases
Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams
