SAP S/4HANA - Project Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced SAP Project Manager to spearhead a transformative digital migration from SAP ECC6 to SAP S/4HANA within a prominent public sector organisation based in Brisbane’s CBD.

We’re looking for an experienced SAP Project Manager to lead one of Queensland’s biggest digital transformation projects. Based in Brisbane’s CBD, this role is all about driving the move from SAP ECC6 to S/4HANA on a public cloud platform.

You’ll be at the heart of the action—managing complex system migrations, working with a mix of IT experts and business teams, and making sure everything runs smoothly from start to finish. It’s a hands-on role that needs someone who’s not just technically sharp but also great with people. You’ll be helping teams navigate big changes, building strong relationships, and making sure everyone’s on the same page.

You’ll also play a key role in creating training materials and supporting knowledge sharing across the organisation, helping people get comfortable with the new system. What you’ll be doing:

• Leading the full SAP migration project—from ECC6 to S/4HANA—making sure it’s delivered on time, on budget, and in line with business goals.
• Coordinating internal teams and external consultants to ensure everything integrates smoothly.
• Using SAP Activate and agile methods to keep the project on track and adaptable.
• Keeping stakeholders informed and engaged, and managing expectations along the way.
• Rolling out change management strategies that help users adapt with minimal disruption.
• Overseeing data migration using tools like SAP Data Services and LSMW to ensure everything is clean, accurate, and transferred correctly.
• Creating clear documentation, training resources, and guides to support users and build internal capability.
• Encouraging collaboration and problem-solving within the team.
• Identifying and managing risks to keep the project running smoothly.

What you’ll bring:

• Solid experience managing large SAP migration projects—especially moving from ECC6 to S/4HANA.
• A strong understanding of S/4HANA and its core modules (FI/CO, MM, SD, PP), and how they support business processes.
• Confidence using SAP Activate and agile project management techniques.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills—you know how to build trust and keep everyone aligned.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills, with a knack for bringing teams together.
• Experience with change management and helping users through big system changes.
• Familiarity with data migration tools like SAP Data Services or LSMW.
• A track record of producing helpful documentation and training materials.
• Experience working in complex Government organisations
• Relevant qualifications in IT, Business, or similar fields. Certifications like PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile are a big plus.
