There are big, positive changes ahead for Australian businesses who are searching for international talent – and Robert Walters is ready to help clients.
The Australia – UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA) will come into effect by 31 May 2023. The FTA will make it easier for Australians to live and work in the UK, and for British to do the same in Australia. It’s designed to provide better career opportunities for Australians and British.
In recognition of the exciting changes ahead, Robert Walters recently co-hosted an event in London with the Australian Chamber of Commerce.
The event brought together key Australian businesses to talk about ways the FTA, specifically how it will make it easier for skilled professionals to work in Australia.
Deputy High Commissioner, Elisabeth Bowes PSM, was the guest speaker and ideal person to talk about the FTA. Before recently moving to London she was the Chief Negotiator, Free Trade Agreements for Australia. At the event, Ms Bowes shares unique insight into what it’s been like to work on the FTA negotiation and now the implementation stage.
