Sales Manager - WA & SA

Save job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sales Manager to join a respected national team, focusing on the Western Australia and South Australia regions. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a consultative sales environment, enjoys building lasting client relationships, and is passionate about high-value capital equipment sales.

You will have the flexibility to work from your home office while collaborating with colleagues across the country, supported by a strong head office presence. The position offers the chance to engage with a diverse range of clients across multiple sectors, including automotive, heavy vehicle transport, and retail car wash projects. If you are looking for a role that values your expertise, encourages work/life balance, and provides opportunities for professional growth within a supportive and inclusive culture, this could be your next career move.

  • Enjoy flexible remote working arrangements as part of a collaborative national team, allowing you to balance your professional and personal commitments effectively.
  • Engage with an impressive portfolio of clients across various industries such as petroleum, automotive dealerships, truck and bus operators, and retail car wash projects, expanding your network and industry knowledge.
  • Benefit from a company culture that prioritises employee wellbeing, encourages teamwork, and supports ongoing training and development to help you achieve your career goals.

What you'll do:

As a Sales Manager covering Western Australia and South Australia, you will play a pivotal role in driving business growth by identifying new prospects while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients. Your day-to-day activities will involve engaging directly with customers at every stage of the sales process—from initial contact through to post-sale support—ensuring their needs are met with tailored solutions. You will be responsible for managing your own pipeline using advanced CRM systems, keeping meticulous records of interactions and progress. Working remotely from your home office gives you autonomy over your schedule while still being an integral part of a supportive national team. Regular travel within your territory will allow you to connect personally with clients across diverse industries such as automotive dealerships, heavy vehicle transport companies, petroleum businesses, and retail car wash operators. Success in this role comes from your ability to combine consultative selling skills with excellent organisational abilities, always keeping customer satisfaction at the forefront of everything you do.

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through proactive prospecting within existing customer bases, competitor accounts, and new-to-industry segments.
  • Conduct regular sales calls and site visits with both current and potential customers using phone, email, and face-to-face meetings to build rapport and trust.
  • Manage all stages of the sales cycle from lead generation and qualification through to tailored solution proposals, closing deals, and providing thorough follow-up support.
  • Consistently meet or exceed established sales targets while contributing to the overall market share growth in the assigned territories.
  • Maintain strong account management practices by nurturing long-term relationships with existing clients and ensuring their ongoing satisfaction.
  • Network extensively within the industry to maintain valuable connections and stay informed about market trends and competitor activities.
  • Accurately manage sales pipeline data using CRM tools—preferably Salesforce—to ensure up-to-date records of all activities and opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across different regions to share insights, best practices, and support each other’s success as part of a cohesive national team.
  • Travel regularly throughout Western Australia and South Australia as required by business needs, including overnight stays when necessary.
  • Uphold professional standards in appearance and conduct when interacting with clients ranging from tradespeople to executives.

What you bring:

To excel as a Sales Manager in this environment, you will bring substantial experience selling high-value capital equipment into complex markets. Your proven track record includes managing intricate sales cycles where attention to detail is paramount—from initial prospecting right through to after-sales care. You possess exceptional interpersonal skills that foster trust-based relationships with clients at all levels. Your comfort with technology enables you to keep comprehensive records using CRM systems like Salesforce while staying organised amidst competing demands. Experience within automotive or related sectors will serve you well but is complemented by your willingness to learn about new industries. Your approach is defined by reliability under pressure; you consistently deliver results without compromising on quality or customer focus. Flexibility regarding travel requirements means you can respond quickly to business needs across both states. Above all else, your commitment to supporting colleagues ensures that everyone benefits from shared knowledge within an inclusive team environment.

  • Demonstrated experience in high-value capital equipment sales within ranges of $200K to $3M is essential for this position.
  • Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles from lead generation through to closing deals while maintaining detailed follow-up procedures.
  • Exceptional organisational skills combined with effective problem-solving abilities enable you to juggle multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Outstanding customer service orientation ensures that client needs are always addressed promptly and professionally.
  • Advanced proficiency in computer technology—including CRM platforms such as Salesforce—facilitates accurate tracking of pipeline data and activities.
  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—allow you to present compelling solutions tailored to varied audiences.
  • Industry experience in automotive or heavy vehicle transport sectors would be highly advantageous but not mandatory.
  • A willingness to travel regularly within Western Australia and South Australia—including overnight stays—is required for success in this role.
  • Ability to work independently from a home office while remaining engaged as part of a wider national team demonstrates adaptability and self-motivation.
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence is required along with the ability to pass background checks and drug screening processes.
