Business Manager
Australian Lutheran College (ALC) is a tertiary institution dedicated to providing quality theological education and training for the Lutheran Church of Australia. As they continue to grow and innovate, they are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Manager to join the leadership team.
Position Overview:
The Business Manager will report to the Principal, will be a member of the Leadership team and will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic and operational excellence of ALC. This position demands a proactive and forward-thinking professional who can manage the financial operations, enhance business processes, and contribute to the strategic direction of the college. The successful candidate will have a strong background in financial management, a passion for education, and a commitment to operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the financial management of the college, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Develop and implement strategic business plans to support the college’s growth and sustainability
- Manage the college’s assets and resources efficiently and effectively
- Lead and mentor a team of dedicated finance and administrative staff
- Collaborate with academic and administrative leaders to align financial strategies with institutional goals
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies
- Engage with stakeholders to foster strong relationships and partnerships.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a Master’s degree or CPA qualification is preferred
- Proven experience in a senior financial management role, ideally within an educational or non-profit setting
- Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to think strategically and implement innovative solutions.
