Australian Lutheran College (ALC) is a tertiary institution dedicated to providing quality theological education and training for the Lutheran Church of Australia. ALC fosters a vibrant online community that values academic excellence, spiritual growth, and service to society. As they continue to grow and innovate, they are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Manager to join the leadership team.

Position Overview:
The Business Manager will report to the Principal, will be a member of the Leadership team and will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic and operational excellence of ALC. This position demands a proactive and forward-thinking professional who can manage the financial operations, enhance business processes, and contribute to the strategic direction of the college. The successful candidate will have a strong background in financial management, a passion for education, and a commitment to operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the financial management of the college, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Develop and implement strategic business plans to support the college’s growth and sustainability
  • Manage the college’s assets and resources efficiently and effectively
  • Lead and mentor a team of dedicated finance and administrative staff
  • Collaborate with academic and administrative leaders to align financial strategies with institutional goals
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies
  • Engage with stakeholders to foster strong relationships and partnerships.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a Master’s degree or CPA qualification is preferred
  • Proven experience in a senior financial management role, ideally within an educational or non-profit setting
  • Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to think strategically and implement innovative solutions.
