What you'll do:
As a Financial Accountant in this well-established construction business based in North Brisbane, you will play an integral role in managing the entire spectrum of financial operations. Your day-to-day activities will involve working hands-on across accounts payable and receivable functions, preparing payroll each week based on tax invoice inputs, issuing contracts to clients, coordinating payment schedules, and collaborating closely with both directors and site teams. You will use Xero and BuildExact software extensively to handle all daily transactions while also supporting project finance needs across more than 40 live jobs. - Collaborate closely with the Director and small office team to provide essential support for project finance across multiple live construction jobs simultaneously.
- Utilise Xero and BuildExact software to manage daily financial transactions, ensuring seamless workflow integration between accounting systems and operational requirements.
- Maintain open lines of communication with clients regarding invoicing, payments, and contract terms while providing responsive support as needed.
- Assist in refining existing financial processes by identifying areas for improvement in reporting accuracy or system efficiency within the finance function.
- Support site teams by managing contract processing, billing queries, and any ad hoc financial requests related to ongoing projects.
- Contribute to regular reviews of financial performance alongside business owners to help inform strategic decisions for future growth.
