Senior Accountant – Private Equity Backed Healthcare Group

Save job

Fast-Paced Growth | Strategic Impact | Career-Defining Opportunity An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accountant to join a dynamic and high-performing finance team within a private equity-backed healthcare organisation. This is not just another accounting role — it’s a chance to contribute directly to the rapid expansion and value creation strategy of a business transforming the landscape of mental health and addiction care.

As the company scales aggressively towards a future transaction, you will gain rare exposure to both healthcare operations and private equity strategy — offering an unparalleled career trajectory. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment where your technical expertise and commercial insight will influence key decisions, while you also help shape the finance function for the next stage of growth.

This role is ideal for a commercially minded accountant who wants more than just reporting — someone eager to be part of a journey that blends purpose-driven healthcare with private equity-level performance and pace.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead financial reporting cycles including month-end and year-end close, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
  • Own the general ledger: prepare reconciliations, intercompany journals, and payroll-related accruals.
  • Support the audit process and manage statutory obligations including BAS, FBT, and Payroll Tax.
  • Partner with business leaders and senior stakeholders, providing analysis and insights that drive commercial decision-making.
  • Contribute to forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning to support the company’s growth agenda.
  • Strengthen cash flow and treasury management to support expansion initiatives.
  • Drive process improvements across finance, building scalable systems and controls in line with the company’s rapid growth.
  • Take ownership of ad-hoc strategic projects, contributing directly to the private equity value creation plan.

What You Bring

  • CA or CPA qualification with at least 2 years’ post-qualification experience.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and a solid understanding of reporting, compliance, and reconciliations.
  • Experience in a complex or high-growth environment (healthcare or private equity exposure highly regarded).
  • Excellent Excel and systems skills; Xero experience a plus.
  • A proactive, commercially minded approach with the ability to see the bigger picture beyond the numbers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving organisation.

What Sets This Opportunity Apart

  • Private Equity Exposure – hands-on experience in a scaling business backed by PE, preparing for significant future events.
  • Career Acceleration – unique scope to step beyond traditional accounting and gain commercial, strategic, and M&A exposure.
  • High-Growth Healthcare Sector – play a role in expanding critical services that make a real difference in mental health and addiction care.
  • Inclusive, High-Performing Team – a collaborative culture where your contribution will be seen and valued.
  • Flexibility & Support – professional growth opportunities, balanced with flexibility for personal wellbeing.
