Our client is a Big 4 Bank that's seeking an Assistant Manager for their Small & Medium Enterprise Banking division. What you'll do:

As an Assistant Manager in Small & Medium Enterprise Banking, your day will be filled with opportunities to make a difference. Working closely with your Relationship Manager, you'll manage a portfolio of customers, developing a deep understanding of their business needs. You'll act in their best interest, providing them with suitable products and services that support their business goals. Your attention to detail will ensure that your portfolio remains compliant with all relevant policies and procedures. Collaborating with product partners and other stakeholders, you'll work tirelessly to fulfil your customers' needs.

  • Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of the customer’s business and financial needs
  • Act in the best interest of the customer, applying a customer-centric approach to support their business needs with suitable products and services
  • Provide appropriate solutions towards account maintenance and customer needs
  • Maintain a well-managed portfolio compliant with all relevant policies and procedures
  • Control workflows across all compliance and customer fulfilment processes
  • Collaborate with product partners and other stakeholders to fulfil customer needs


What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Assistant Manager role brings a wealth of experience from commercial banking frontline roles, particularly in commercial lending. Your ability to manage strong customer relationships will be key as you handle service queries and resolve minor issues. Strong communication skills are essential for assisting customers effectively. Your keen attention to detail will come into play when reviewing agreements and contracts. You'll also need the ability to assess a customer's ability to fulfill their credit obligations, considering both qualitative and quantitative factors. Familiarity with risk management concepts and regulatory requirements such as KYC and AML is also crucial.

  • Experience in commercial banking frontline roles and commercial lending
  • Ability to manage strong customer relationships by handling service queries and solving minor issues
  • Strong communication skills to assist customers effectively
  • Attention to detail when reviewing agreements and contracts
  • Ability to assess a customer's ability to fulfill their credit obligations, considering both qualitative and quantitative factors (the 5Cs of credit)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and keep track of customer documentation, banking transactions, and internal communications
  • Familiarity with risk management concepts, particularly in credit risk, risk and market risk
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as KYC (Know your Customer) and AML (anti- money laundering)
