What you'll do:
As an Equity Middle Office Associate based in Sydney, you will be entrusted with responsibilities that span the full spectrum of post-trade equity operations. Your day-to-day activities will involve managing the onboarding of new clients, ensuring their experience is seamless from the outset. You will handle trade allocations and confirmations with precision, coordinate settlements across multiple markets, and proactively resolve any exceptions or fails that arise. Your ability to reconcile complex transactions and produce insightful risk reports will be crucial in maintaining operational integrity. In addition to responding thoughtfully to client queries, you will play an important role in meeting regulatory requirements while continuously seeking ways to improve existing processes. - Oversee new client operational onboarding processes to ensure smooth integration into the firm’s systems and procedures.
- Manage primary and secondary market trade allocations as well as confirmation generation for clients, maintaining accuracy throughout each transaction.
- Coordinate pre-matching, settlement, and fails management for both domestic and international equity trades, ensuring timely resolution of any discrepancies.
- Perform detailed reconciliation tasks, prepare comprehensive risk reports, and manage exception items with diligence and care.
- Respond promptly to external and internal client queries by providing clear resolutions that enhance client satisfaction.
- Ensure all regulatory reporting obligations are met accurately and on time in accordance with industry standards.
- Identify areas for process improvement within operational workflows and actively contribute to the implementation of enhanced procedures.
- Collaborate closely with business units to address key internal issues as well as client concerns in a cooperative manner.
- Maintain acute awareness of risk factors within daily operations, escalating any control or risk items promptly to management.
