Save job

A leading global stockbroking provider is seeking a Senior Scrip Settlements Administrator to join their Sydney-based team. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to bring your expertise in equity and options processing to a highly respected organisation that values accuracy, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Scrip Settlements Administrator, you will be entrusted with a broad range of responsibilities that are central to the effective functioning of the Stockbroking Operations department. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with colleagues across various teams as you manage complex settlement processes for domestic equities. You will be instrumental in facilitating secure transfers between brokers, overseeing conversions between different types of sponsorships, and ensuring that all DVP settlements are executed flawlessly. In addition to these core duties, you will play an active role in managing corporate actions—such as takeovers and buybacks—and processing off-market transfers with utmost care. Your expertise will also extend to managing sponsored holdings, options collateral, MFunds processing on ASX platforms, as well as monitoring trades and suspense accounts. By providing guidance to junior team members and acting as a point of contact for operational queries, you will contribute significantly to the overall success of the team while upholding the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.

  • Ensure compliance with CHESS market obligations and regulations by accurately covering all related tasks as required by industry standards.
  • Facilitate secure broker-to-broker transfers of CHESS holdings and Holder Identification Numbers (HINs), maintaining meticulous records throughout each transaction.
  • Process conversions between issuer-sponsored and CHESS-sponsored securities efficiently, ensuring seamless transitions for clients.
  • Handle Delivery Versus Payment (DVP) settlements and margin lending settlements with precision, supporting timely completion of all post-trade activities.
  • Coordinate and process corporate actions such as takeovers, buybacks, and market protections, ensuring all events are managed according to regulatory requirements.
  • Efficiently process off-market transfers while maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail at every stage.
  • Manage sponsored CHESS holdings to ensure their smooth operation within the broader settlement framework.
  • Oversee options collateral management processes, guaranteeing accurate handling of all related documentation and transactions.
  • Process Mutual Funds (MFunds) on the ASX platform, ensuring compliance with relevant procedures and deadlines.
  • Monitor trade bookings and suspense accounts vigilantly, taking prompt action when discrepancies or issues arise.

What you bring:

To excel as a Senior Scrip Settlements Administrator, your background should reflect substantial hands-on experience within stockbroking operations—particularly involving equity or options processing. Your familiarity with ASX rules and CHESS-related compliance requirements will allow you to navigate regulatory complexities seamlessly. You bring proven expertise in managing corporate actions alongside other critical post-trade functions while demonstrating an ability to work collaboratively across multiple stakeholder groups. Your communication style is clear yet considerate; you approach challenges thoughtfully while remaining responsive under pressure. Experience with key industry software such as GBST Shares™ enhances your capacity for adapting quickly during system upgrades or new product implementations. A track record of supporting junior colleagues through coaching or mentoring further highlights your commitment to fostering team growth. With at least three years’ experience in similar roles—and ideally holding RG-146 certification—you are well-positioned to make immediate contributions while continuing your own professional development.

  • Demonstrated experience within the stockbroking industry specifically focused on equity or options processing is essential for this role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of ASX rules along with compliance requirements for CHESS-sponsored processes is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of CHESS market obligations and regulations ensures you can navigate complex settlement scenarios confidently.
  • Proven proficiency in handling corporate actions as well as other post-trade activities is vital for success in this position.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders across internal departments and external partners is crucial.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities combined with clear communication skills enable you to address challenges constructively.
  • Familiarity with software upgrades—including GBST Shares™—and system enhancements supports continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office products facilitate efficient task management and reporting responsibilities.
  • RG-146 certification would be advantageous but is not mandatory; experience with GBST DCA™ or similar back-office systems is desirable.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a stockbroking back-office role provides valuable context for excelling in this position.
