- Provide accountable, high-level advice to senior executives including the Minister, Director-General, Division management, Regional Directors, and Principals on a broad range of infrastructure, planning, and asset management issues.
- Oversee project teams in developing, implementing, maintaining, and reviewing programs, policies, and procedures that align with the strategic direction of the department for various infrastructure and planning matters.
- Establish and maintain strategic networks to monitor emerging issues and changes within the sector while identifying best practice approaches for consistent process implementation.
- Facilitate ongoing departmental relationships within these networks to ensure effective collaboration across all levels of the organisation.
- Regularly liaise with stakeholder groups to ensure that services managed by your unit are responsive to their evolving needs.

- Undertake other suitable duties as directed by your supervisor or nominated delegate in line with the responsibilities of this position.
What you bring:
To excel as Project Manager – Infrastructure and Planning you will bring substantial experience overseeing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders—ideally within public sector or similarly regulated environments. Your background should include hands-on involvement in all aspects of project lifecycle management: from scoping requirements through execution to evaluation. You are adept at navigating ambiguity with optimism while remaining focused on ethical decision-making. Your interpersonal strengths allow you to connect meaningfully with colleagues at all levels; you value open dialogue as much as technical expertise. A natural collaborator who thrives on supporting others’ success as well as your own development journey—you understand how nurturing talent leads directly to better outcomes for communities served by your work. Your approach is grounded in empathy; you recognise that inclusive workplaces are built on trustworthiness and sensitivity toward others’ experiences.
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale infrastructure or planning projects within complex organisational settings where collaboration is key.
- Proven ability to provide strategic advice at executive levels on matters relating to infrastructure delivery, planning processes, or asset management.
- Strong interpersonal skills enabling you to build enduring relationships with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds while promoting shared goals.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams towards successful project outcomes through clear communication and mutual support.
- A track record of managing budgets, resources, and timelines efficiently while ensuring compliance with governance standards.
- Capacity for critical thinking when analysing challenges or opportunities within fast-evolving environments; able to adapt approaches as needed.
- Commitment to fostering inclusive workplaces where health, safety, wellbeing—and respect for diversity—are prioritised at all times.
