HR Advisor
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Human Resources Advisor to join a transformative rail infrastructure program based in Brisbane CBD. This is a 9-month contract role with the possibility of extension, offering you the chance to contribute to major projects that will shape the future of Queensland’s transport network.
What you'll do:
- Liaise effectively with key stakeholders across multiple teams to understand current and future resourcing needs, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
- Develop new role descriptions as well as update existing ones, ensuring all documentation accurately reflects evolving requirements and complies with relevant frameworks.
- Utilise your experience in public sector recruitment and selection processes to attract, assess, and onboard top talent for critical project roles.
- Apply established HR policies and frameworks consistently to achieve business outcomes while maintaining compliance with legislation and best practice standards.
- Prepare high-quality HR-related correspondence, including briefs, reports, and resource requests tailored for diverse audiences within the organisation.
- Support the Principal HR Advisor by contributing to the continuous improvement of HR service delivery across the branch, sharing knowledge and insights as needed.
- Demonstrate sound judgement by applying critical thinking and analysis when drawing conclusions from multiple sources of information.
- Manage work projects efficiently from initiation through completion, ensuring timely achievement of results that support broader organisational goals.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders by providing responsive advice and fostering open communication channels.
What you bring:
- Recent experience working within Queensland Government or similar public sector environments is essential for understanding unique operational contexts.
- Proven ability to operate independently as an HR advisor while remaining connected to team objectives through effective communication and collaboration.
- Demonstrated expertise in recruitment and selection processes specific to the public sector, including familiarity with relevant policies and procedures.
- Comprehensive understanding of contemporary human resource management practices as well as applicable legislation, industrial agreements, policies, and procedures.
- Strong analytical skills enabling you to apply critical thinking when interpreting data from various sources and making evidence-based recommendations.
- Excellent written communication abilities that allow you to prepare succinct correspondence tailored for different audiences within the organisation.
- Experience managing multiple work projects concurrently while achieving desired outcomes within set timeframes.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills that enable you to build rapport quickly with stakeholders at all levels, fostering trust and cooperation.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards in all aspects of HR service delivery while demonstrating sensitivity towards diverse perspectives.
