* Role: Team Lead Senior Desktop Support Officer * Location:North Ryde, NSW (with potential for flexible or remote work arrangements) * Contract Duration: Initial 6 months, with two possible 6-month extensions * Security Clearance: Must be an Australian Citizen able to obtain Baseline clearance * Work Hours: Maximum of 40 hours per week

About the Role

A Federal Government Agency is seeking a skilled and motivated Team Lead – Senior Desktop Support Officer to join their ICT Operations Team. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll oversee a team of Desktop Support Officers, ensuring high-quality technical support and service delivery across multiple sites.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of Desktop Support Officers
  • Provide Level 2 ICT support for hardware, software, video conferencing, and peripheral devices
  • Manage ICT equipment provisioning and asset register accuracy
  • Collaborate with Level 3 teams and external vendors for escalations and upgrades
  • Monitor team resources and ensure service level agreements are met
  • Drive continuous improvement and maintain ICT knowledge base documentation

About You

You’re an experienced technical leader with:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused mindset
  • Proven experience in desktop support and incident management
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • A passion for mentoring and developing team members
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to manage competing priorities
