Procurement Specialist

About the Role: A well-established organisation in the industrial and project-based operations sector is seeking a Capital Procurement Specialist for a 6-month contract based in south Brisbane. This role is ideal for a procurement professional who thrives on driving improvement and innovation, working closely with internal teams to deliver better product outcomes and using data-driven insights to add real value.

You’ll lead procurement projects that support capital investments, manage supplier relationships, and contribute to strategic sourcing initiatives that improve both process and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement supply strategies aligned with capital project goals.
• Lead procurement activities including sourcing, tendering, contract negotiation, and supplier engagement.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for innovation and practical improvements.
• Manage supplier performance and ensure contracts are regularly reviewed and optimised.
• Use data and analytics to inform procurement decisions and drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain high service standards and ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.

About You:

• Proven experience in procurement, sourcing, or supplier management within a large, complex organisation.
• Ability to manage procurement projects independently and deliver measurable outcomes.
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Proficiency in procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa).
• Qualifications such as CIPS, Chartered Accountancy, or Contract Law are highly regarded.
• A customer-focused mindset and a commitment to contributing to a safe, inclusive, and high-performance culture.
